Crackheads and Jitterbeans

12 Oct

Sometimes coffee and energy drinks just don’t cut it. This is where Osmanium Candy Company may step in. They gave Edible Reminiscence an opportunity to review there products Jitterbeans and Crackheads.

Considering these are espresso beans both Samantha and I were a little hesitant about trying them. Some of the reasons were because of the possibility of the gritty coffee texture and lack of decent chocolate taste. However Jitterbeans and Crackheads didn’t fail they in fact surprised us a bit.

The only thing we have to note is that this in fact a very heavy duty energy candy. We don’t recommend finishing the whole box at once because of the possibility of seriously crashing. A crash is when a person consumes an excessive amount of caffeine. Although this may seen like a great idea at the time it will result in the person feeling extremely tried. The best thing to do when this happens is to give in and sleep it off. Also do not consume if you are sensitive to the effects of caffeine or have any related blood pressure and or heart problems.

Now to start the review.

crackheads

From the site: Crackheads® are a unique and delicious blend of gourmet white and dark chocolate covered espresso beans. Each box as the equivalent caffeine of approximately 2 cups of coffee.

Packaging:4 stars
The packaging is pretty simple and yet had a lot of information on it. We both particularly liked the back portion that compares the candy to other caffeinated products. The whole nerdy aspect was creative. We recommend that you remove the leftovers from the box if you plan to put this in your purse. A zip-lock bag will help keep them from spilling.

Flavor:5 stars
Better than most chocolate espresso beans there hardly is any gritty coffee taste. The white chocolate is sweeter than the dark chocolate ones.

Amount of product:4 half stars
There isn’t a lot in one box. In fact we noticed that there are more dark chocolate beans than the white chocolate beans. This is alright since there isn’t really a flavor difference. The only thing is that the white beans a tad bit sweeter. The amount alone is worth the energy boost. You don’t need to eat a lot to get a boost so the product will last a while.

Price: $1.00 – $3.00
Most stores sell the Jitterbeans and Crackheads for $1.99 per box now. They just released a new $1.00 box that will be available at all Dollar Tree locations pretty soon. The $1.00 Jitterbeans boxes contain half the product as the regular boxes. They are also available online www.JitterbeansCandy.com

From the site:Jitterbeans™ are a unique and delicious blend of gourmet dark chocolate, espresso beans, and caffeine. One box of Jitterbeans® has the same caffeine as approximately 6 cups of coffee! Supreme taste with a huge energy boost.

Packaging:4 stars
The packaging again is pretty simple and it has a lot of useful information.

Flavor:5 stars
These have more a m&m texture with the hard shell and chocolate inside. This was slightly more preferred over crackheads.

Amount of Product:4 half stars
Again we noticed that there are a lot more dark chocolate ones than white chocolate ones. This is alright in this case because there really isn’t a difference in flavor. It’s just a thing we noticed.

Overall:5 stars
Crackheads and Jitterbeans are pretty good in taste and as far an energy boost. We both would try these products again in the future. This product does leave you with coffee breath but that’s kind of expected when you have a coffee product.
